As the one before last piece for my unique project dedicated to Domingos Semenzato I’ve recorded his arrangement of “SAUDADES DO RIO GRANDE”, a Valsa composed by Levino Albano da Conceição. I already recorded this Valsa eleven and a half years ago in the transcription of my friend Zuza Rodrigues, it may be watched here:

Levino Albano da Conceição (1883-1955) - Composer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and conductor, he was Dilermando Reis&apos teacher and one of the most inspired creators of his generation. Levino Albano was, without a doubt, the greatest Brazilian guitarist of the 20th century. For more than 30 years, he traveled all over Brazil, giving concerts, many of them benefiting, and fought incessantly to improve the lives of visually impaired. Levino Albano became blind at the age of 7, after contracting Yellow Fever, but he did not give up on life, on the contrary, he studied music feverishly and sought to develop himself deeply in the instrument, the guitar. Was friend Agustín Barrios Mangoré&aposs chest, dedicating the famous concert study in A Minor "Tarantella", recorded by Barrios twice. He met personalities such as Josefina Robledo and was the most famous Brazilian guitarist of his time, inspired, competent and a musician of enviable proficiency, possessing perfect technique. His most famous students were the guitarist and composer Dilermando Reis. He composed more than 130 works for solo guitar.
