The youngest of the victims in one of the deadliest school shootings in US history, was identified as 15-year-old Alyssa Alhadeff. Meanwhile Cruz appeared in court charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder. More than a dozen other people were injured in the shooting. Cruz&aposs mother Lynda Cruz died of pneumonia on Nov. 1 neighbors, friends and family members according to the Sun Sentinel. Cruz and her husband, who died of a heart attack several years ago, adopted Nikolas and his biological brother, Zachary, after the couple moved from Long Island in New York to Broward County.
Police do not yet know the specific reason for Cruz&aposs expulsion, besides the fact that it was tied to a issue. Lissette Rozenblat, the mother of a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, told that her daughter was familiar with Cruz from previous aggressive incidents.Rozenblat said that her daughter made the connection after the shooting, when she visited the purported Instagram account of the shooter.
“The family is devastated, they didn’t see this coming. They took him in and it’s a classic case of no good deed goes unpunished,” Lewis, who did not name the family, said.“He was a little quirky and he was depressed about his mom’s death, but who wouldn’t be?”
“Just spoke with attorney representing family who took in Nikolas Cruz after his mother&aposs death. He says family had no idea of what Cruz was planning. is stunned by today&aposs events,” Viteri, a reporter for WPLG-TV, wrote on Twitter.
